Centro Social Sant Joan de Deu

The Project ensued from the Contest summoned by the institution Sant Joan of Deu, Mental Serveis of health, supposes the creation of the Community center of the Hospitable Set located in Llobregat's Sant Boi.

The global conception of the project answers to the following premises:

1. Location in the lot and volumetric disposition.
The new building of the Community center is awarded as the Forum of the hospitable set of Deu's Sant Joan, articulating effectively the principal axes of ordination of the enclosure and joining adequately with regard to the gardens, on having respected and to incorporate the majority of the woodland and landscaped existing zones.

The volumetric disposition takes advantage of the existing difference to emphasize the volume of the audience, conceived as a great white prismatic piece put delicately but simultaneously categorically on the area, in perfect dialog with the low body formed by the parallelepipedic volume of the cafeterias, treated with a stony coating in harmony with the fronts of the buildings of the environment mas nearly.

2. Functionality of the spaces of traffic, services, cafeterias, offices and audience.
We have wanted to be endowed to the building conceived as a great container of activities of a great flexibility and polyvalency as for his utilization.

This way the hall articulates perfectly the activities of the audience with those of the café of the personnel, being this one totally autonomous and independent from that of patients. Nevertheless a few containers have been designed between both cafés that could allow, in certain circumstances and needs, the modulation and / or extension of the different spaces of the same ones.
The emphasis and the clarity in the spaces of interconnection of exterior and interior lead to the incorporation of all the exterior zones as integral and significant part of the new projected building.
